The Roman army was well feared, conquering nearly the entirety of the known world in the years before Christ. This remarkably well preserved piece of leather Larica Segmentada armor was retrieved from a tomb of a common soldier. The writings that were found with this armor indicated that he had worn it throughout seven separate campaigns, and it had turned every spear that the soldier had faced.
